Really nice place with excellent food. This place was recommend to us from a friend who has a terrible track record of recommending ordinary places but he got it right about Weirs. Even a stopped clock..... comes to mind. Yes- the menu was varied and the food was delicious. I had hake with chorizo and it was excellent. For dessert we shared a bread and butter pudding and it's probably the best I've ever had. The gentleman who served us was warm, welcoming and friendly. Guinness was also very good. Would highly recommend.

Response from the owner

Thanks a million, Kieran! Delighted your friend finally nailed it—broken clocks and all! We’re thrilled you enjoyed everything, especially the bread and butter pudding (Una will be delighted!). Hope we see you again soon.

I booked a table for four, for a girls catch up. It’s a good spot to meet when people are coming from multiple directions. (Sligo, Carlow and Dublin) The room was so warm and cosy. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and the food was exceptional. We had a fantastic catch up and there was no pressure on us to give up the table. Price of food was very reasonable. I would highly recommend this venue
Thanks for a wonderful meal.

Response from the owner

We only heard of Weir’s recently, despite living only 20 minutes away for two years. We had been warned that sometimes service can be a little slow, although our experience could not have been more efficient- we couldn’t have asked for better service throughout the meal. The atmosphere was very nice. The food was great- I had wings (very good), a steak (great, perfectly cooked), and the sticky toffee pudding. Our table also had the bread and butter pudding. The desserts were the star for us. Exceptional. I’m not sure if they make them on site, but if they do then massive credit to the chef. Will be back again, and often

Response from the owner

Thanks a million Aidan
for the lovely review! Delighted you found us—and even happier you’ll be back again. Yes, all our desserts are made in-house, so Una will be thrilled to hear your kind words. See you again soon!
